Question by Annabel:
Are antibiotics the only way to treat a mild ear infection in a 1 year old?
I have a one particular year old baby. She has been herself, for the most part, aside for being much more fussy and not sleeping nicely. When we took her to get a check up the medical doctor said she had a mild ear infection and suggested antibiotics. But I am not absolutely comfortable with antibiotics proper off the bat. I would like to attempt some thing less disruptive initial. Are there any sort of drops for ears or any other measures that can be taken prior to taking antibiotics are required?

Antibiotics are the greatest way if you want the ear infection to go away entirely. A Warm Wash rag held firm up against your child will aid ease the pain. Drops will aid. Nevertheless, the very ideal way and appropriate way is antibiotics.

I concur with the Doc
AND, from individual experience I treated my son at that age with olive oil that I soaked a crushed garlic clove in.
Directions.
Crush a garlic clove in olive oil at space temperature for about 20 or 30 seconds. Take a dropper and drop in two or three drops.
Works like a charm and you do not want drugs.
A single time I did that when it was severe, since he was in a lot of anguish late at evening. I took him to the doc the subsequent day to make positive. The doc said it looked like it was quite severe, but it was on the mend so we do not will need anything.
cool eh?
For a mild ear infection you ought to be fine, but if you are nervous, take him to the doc.
